Wedding Ceremony Music Ideas
May 7, 2026
The ceremony requires several songs. Plan the music for the processional, recessional, and signing.
Ceremony music flows in sections. The prelude is played as guests arrive for 30 minutes. Choose soft, background music. The processional includes the wedding party. Choose one song for the party and a separate song for the bride. Classic choices include "Canon in D" or "Here Comes the Bride." For a modern wedding, use instrumental versions of pop songs. The signing of the register requires 3 to 5 minutes of music. The recessional is your walk back up the aisle as a married couple. It should be celebratory and upbeat. "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" or "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" are good choices. Work with your musicians to time the music appropriately.
